Updates from Chennai

On 31st January 2015,  a meeting with the office bearers of Gr.-"A" Promotee Officers' Association (which is not recognized Association yet but working with AIACEGEO) and  AIACEGEO was convened at Chennai to form  consensus to firmly & strongly represent to CBEC, on proposed amendments in the Recruitment Rules of  IRS (Customs & Central Excise) Group "A" .   During the discussion, we put forth our demand of parity in the Cadres of Inspector of Central Excise first and reckoning of combined length of service rendered in the grade of Inspector and Superintendent for promotion to the grade of the Assistant Commissioner.  The same was accepted by all the delegates.   A joint forum has proposed with two members from each Association to oppose the faulty RR of Gr. "A" proposed by the Board.

Moreover,  Com. Anupam Neeraj and the undersigned also attended the General Body Meeting of AICEIA, Chennai Circle and addressed the meeting on January 30th 2015.  We are happy to interact with the members of Chennai Circle.  We are thankful to Com. Com. P. Karunakar Reddy, General Secretary, Chennai Circle, who not only worked hard but also rendered selfless service to the Association.  He has great vision and aim for the members of the organization. We are sure that under his leadership, Chennai Circle will achieve great success.  During our visit, we also met the Cadre Controlling Commissioner and Chief Commissioner on the issue of DPC and they assured us for positive result.
